• Vonzell for Obama | 03 Nov 2008

American Idol alum and Fort Myers native, Vonzell Solomon is campaigning for Obama. She says electing Obama will be good for Southwest Florida.

Vonzell spent Sunday in Ft. Myers trying to convince undecided voters to vote for Obama on Nov. 4th.

"I know my family has been effected by the economy, jobs, and losing homes. I really wish we could get back on the straight and narrow course of restoring our government," Solomon said.

No matter who you are voting for, please get out and vote in this historical election!

The second annual LaBelle Rodeo benefiting the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southwest Florida took place Saturday at the LaBelle Rodeo Grounds.

A closing ceremony included fireworks and the appearance of Vonzell "Baby V" Solomon from the hit TV show "American Idol."

"Simply Ballroom," a London-based dance show starring Debbie Reynolds and "American Idol" finalists Anthony Federov and Vonzell Solomon, has canceled its Oct. 8-10 engagement at the Gallo Center for the Arts in Modesto. Gallo Center Executive Director Dave Pier said the company needed to return to England a week earlier than planned. He hopes to bring back the group or a similar company to the center in the future. All advance ticket sales will be refunded.
